What is my iPad’s Apple ID?
When you receive Kaymbu iPads, they do not have Apple IDs. As part of setup, we encourage administrators to log into an Apple ID, and to make sure that information is recorded and accessible.
If you’re not sure what your iPad’s Apple ID is, go to Settings > iTunes and App Store. At the top you’ll see the email address of the Apple ID. If there is no email address, you will see “Sign In”, which you can click to connect the iPad to the Apple ID of your choice.
How can I change the iPad’s Apple ID?
If it makes sense to change the Apple ID, simply follow the instructions above, then click on the email address and select Sign Out. Then you will be able to put in a new Apple ID. Again, we recommend that you record the email and password so that the iPad will be accessible in case there is an issue.
What if I get locked out?
If know the email address, but not the password, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to reset your password.
If you are not sure what Apple ID the iPad is connected to, you can check potential Apple IDs at icloud.com. If you select Find My iPhone > All Devices, it will show you whether there is an iPad connected to that Apple ID.
If an iPad is in Activation Lock, it cannot be opened unless the correct Apple ID is entered, or the person whose Apple ID is connected removes the device from his or her account. This can also be done through Find My iPhone at icloud.com, or through their account in iTunes.
Although Activation Lock can be frustrating, it is an important security measure that Apple has implemented to discourage theft. It is very important that Apple IDs are recorded at your school to avoid losing access to the iPads.
