Type: Daycare/Preschool (Infants through PreK)
Size: 5 classrooms
Kaymbu Plan: Pro Users
Features Primarily Used: Moments, Storyboards, Daily Note
Daily: Mrs. Macavoy loves scrolling through all of the Moments captured by her teachers to keep an eye on what’s going on in the program. When she sees a Moment that would be great for her monthly newsletter, she tags it so she can find it later!
Weekly: She checks the Sent Messages Report to see what teachers are sending to parents, and she likes to check that parents are reading everything there too! She also downloads and prints out the Attendance Report to keep in her binder.
Monthly: Mrs. Macavoy uses Storyboards to make a monthly newsletter that includes Moments captured in the past few weeks, a description of one activity from each classroom that is written by the lead teacher, and important upcoming events parents should know about.
Daily: Ms. Abbott sends home Daily Notes for all of her students every day, and she tries to send at least one photo home during the day as well, since her parents love seeing pictures!
Weekly: At the end of the week, she makes a collage of the best photos to send home to all of the parents. She also prints them out so she can post them on the bulletin board outside her classroom.
Monthly: A few times a month, Ms. Abbott sends messages with important reminders about supplies or events. She loves that she can check to see that the parents are reading them, so she knows whether she needs to send extra reminders!
Daily: Mr. Hopkins tries to capture at least ten Moments every day, making sure that he tags the students and the learning standards each time.
Weekly: On Friday afternoon, he selects 10 to 15 of the best photos, writes a short summary of the week, and sends that to all the families. The parents have commented that they have better conversations with their children about school because of his descriptions of activities and projects, so he tries to be as detailed as possible.
Monthly: At the end of each month Mr. Hopkins runs a Tags Report to see what learning standards he should focus on for the next few weeks. He also makes a Storyboard for each domain that he calls a Learning Summary, which covers highlights and developmental achievements.
