Progress Overview Report
The Progress Overview Report shows the average of the highest scores for each COR category and item for the selected students by each assessment period.
You can use the student filter at the top of the page to narrow down your search results. If a single student is selected, the values represent the highest score observed for the student for each assessment period.
If you are interested in seeing the scores from the previous year, you can use the year filter.
You can also filter the report by student demographic information using the demographics filter on the right.
All filters applied will be displayed at the bottom of the report.
To export the report, use the download button or the print button located on the top right corner of your report.
Performance Report
The Performance Report shows the total number of students who have been observed with the designated score for each COR Advantage assessment item. The values in the table represent the number of students whose highest scored anecdote during the specified period is at the specified level.
By default, you will see the data for all students you have access to within your account. If you would like to view a subset of students, you can use the "Students" and/or "Filters" options at the top of the screen to find the specific data you'd like.
Students - You have the ability to select a specific group of students, whether it be an organization, center, or classroom, click the box to the left of the entity name. If you click on the arrow to the right of the entity name, you'll be able to make a selection from the next level, all the way to the classroom level. Please note it is possible to select whichever combination of groups you would like.
Filters - In addition to viewing data for specific students or groups of students, you can choose to filter the data based on the demographic fields attached to your student profiles. Like viewing for students, it is possible to select whichever combination of demographic filters you would like.
In the top right corner of this report, you'll see download and print icons. You can select either of those to export the information currently displayed on the screen.
Growth Report
The Growth Report shows the average of the highest score observed for the selected students by assessment period. In the updated version, you can find even more information!
By default, you will see the data for all students you have access to within your account. Teachers will see their students along the left-hand side, with the COR Advantage categories along the top. As an administrator, you’ll see the different entities you have access to - classrooms, centers, and/or organizations.
To look at a subset of students, you can use the filters on the top of the page to view data based on the demographic fields attached to your student profiles. It is possible to select whichever combination of demographic filters you would like.
As an administrator, you can also click on an entity to see a more specific view. For example, you can click on a center to see the classrooms within the center, or into a classroom to see the students in the classroom. You can even click on an individual student to see their individual scores. If a single student is selected, the values represent the highest score observed for the student for each assessment period.
In the top right corner of this report, you'll see download and print icons. You can select either of those to export the information currently displayed on the screen.
School Readiness Report
The School Readiness Report measures student progress towards meeting school readiness goals over time. The report uses student performance across all COR Advantage categories.
By default, you will see the data for all students you have access to within your account. If you would like to view a subset of students, you can click on an entity to see a more specific view, such a center or classroom view. You can also use the filters at the top of the page to look at further subsets of data.
Children are determined to be school ready if they have an average score of 3.75 in each category and an overall average of 4.0 or higher. In order to be evaluated, a student must have at least 75% of the assessment items scored in each category. For students with less than 75% completion per category, there is insufficient data to determine school readiness.
In the classroom view of the School Readiness Report, there are two sections. The first section shows the school readiness status for each period. The red circle indicates a student is not school ready, i.e. they do not have an average score of 3.75 in each category and an overall average of 4.0 or higher. The green circle indicates a student is school ready, while the gray circle shows there is insufficient data to determine school readiness. On the right, the second section shows the average of the highest scores from the current period. Again, a gray circle indicates there is insufficient data - in this case less than 75% completion for a category - to determine school readiness.
Administrators
Administrators can access the School Readiness Report at the classroom, center, and organization level. At these levels, the School Readiness Report will have three columns to show the total number of students, the number of students that are school ready, and the percentage of students that are school ready.
It is important to note that the number of students in the Total Students section represents only students who have sufficient data to be evaluated (at least 75% of the assessment items scored in each category). Similarly, the Percentage column calculates the percentage of students that are school ready out of the total number of students who are eligible to be evaluated.
Benchmarks Report
Teachers
The Benchmarks Report is now available under Reports > Growth and Planning. The report shows the number of students in each terciles relative to national averages:
- Above = performing above age-level norms (top 25%)
- Meeting = performing consistent with age-level norms (middle 50%)
- Below = performing below age-level norms (bottom 25%)
The data sample includes students assessed using the digital version of COR Advantage for the 2013-14 school year, totaling 49,692 children from 3,994 classrooms. As not every child was rated for all assessment items or periods, the actual sample sizes varied approximately between 27,000 and 35,000 for Period 1; 33,000 and 40,000 for Period 2; and 29,900 and 35,000 for Period 3. A Rasch Partial Credit Model (PCM) was applied to the data as rubrics for ordinal categories labeled with the same level (e.g., Level 0, Level 1, etc.) are different among items.
Teachers have a few options on how they view the Report. When first opening the Benchmarks Report, they’ll see all students on the left-hand side with the categories along the top of the chart. As in other reports, teachers can use the filters to look at specific subsets of data. Additionally, teachers can click on a specific student’s name to look at the individual student data.
Administrators
Administrators can access the Benchmarks Report at the classroom, center, and organization level. At the center and organization levels, administrators can view the Benchmark data as a percentage or in a chart form by using the “View Options” toggle.
Strengths and Opportunities Report
The Strengths and Opportunities Report shows the items ordered from highest to lowest scores, as well as the gains from Period 1. The report is automatically sorted to show the highest to lowest scored items from Period 1, although the Period filter will allow you to change the period.
To sort the report by gains instead, click the 3 to the right of the view options at the top of the report and select "Sort by Gains."
By default, the report will include all the students you have access to in your account. You can use the Students menu to look at specific subsets of students, or the Filters menu to view data based on the demographic attached to your student profiles.
As the Strengths and Opportunities Report shows the gains from Period 1, this report is a helpful tool to see where students have shown the most and least progress, as well as providing direction what areas a program can focus on for next year.
