Overview of COR Advantage Scoring
COR Advantage assesses early childhood development from infancy through kindergarten in eight categories including one additional area for children whose first language is other than English. Each category includes items that address key concepts in early learning, for a total of 34 items plus the 2 items for English language learners. Each COR Advantage item is scored using an eight-level scale ranging from 0 (lowest) to 7 (highest). The Desk Reference and Scoring Guide help educators and in their understanding, use of, and planning for using the COR Advantage assessment.

Desk Reference
The COR Advantage Desk Reference provides a quick look at the 36 COR Advantage items and the 8 levels within each item. We recommend downloading and keeping this guide handy as you observe children and review anecdotes.

Scoring Guide
The Scoring Guide provides more in-depth information about the 9 categories, 36 items, and the 8 levels within each item, including overviews, definitions, and sample anecdotes. The COR Advantage software also has an embedded scoring guide which can be accessed by clicking on the ? next to "Choose Rating" in the software.
