How are Age Intervals Selected?
Children are matched and assigned automatically in the Kaymbu system to a questionnaire based on their:
- Age in months (see chart below)
- Developmental stage at the time of screening
This ensures that questions are appropriate and relevant.
Age Intervals
Each questionnaire corresponds to a specific age interval to ensure development is measured accurately.
ASQ questionnaires are designed for children between:
- 1 month and 5½ years
Please note that some of the age ranges are broken down by month and day.

How the Questionnaires Work
- Caregivers answer questions about their children’s current skills.
- Responses are scored and compared to developmental benchmarks
- Results fall into three categories:
- “Above the cutoff” – Development is on track
- “Close to the cutoff” – Monitoring may be recommended
- “Below the cutoff” – Further evaluation may be needed
Considerations:
Adjusted Age (if applicable)
For children born early (prematurely), an adjusted age may be used when selecting the questionnaire.
This helps ensure the screening reflects the child’s developmental timeline more accurately.
