Kaymbu’s Attendance feature includes multiple settings that let schools or programs customize it to their unique needs. Directors can create locations, set staff-to-student ratios, require checkout confirmation, and more through Attendance Settings.

Accessing Attendance Settings

Directors can access the Attendance Settings from the Kaymbu app or from the website my.kaymbu.com by going to Menu > Settings > Attendance Settings.

Checkout Settings

To access the Checkout Settings for Attendance, navigate to: Menu > Settings > Attendance Settings > Checkout Settings.

In Checkout Settings, directors can enable the following requirements each time a checkout action is performed in Attendance:

Require confirmation when checking out students

When enabled, this setting requires teachers to confirm that a student is being checked out from Attendance as a precautionary measure, which can help prevent accidental checkouts.

Require selection of pickup person for check out

When enabled, this setting requires teachers to select the relationship of the person picking up the child at checkout.

Attendance Editing

To access the Attendance Editing setting for Attendance, navigate to:

 Menu > Settings > Attendance Settings > Attendance Editing

When enabled, any user can edit attendance records by visiting the Attendance Log. 

Locations and Ratios

Shared locations are places or classrooms that students visit regularly during the school day. Through this setting, directors can create additional locations and customize staff-to-student ratios.

To set up locations and ratios, directors can navigate to:

 Menu > Settings > Attendance Settings > Locations 

Classrooms

Under the “Classrooms” section of Locations, users will find a list of classrooms within their program, which are derived from the classrooms created through your Roster.

The pencil icon next to each classroom lets directors customize the staff-to-student ratio for that classroom.

When customizing ratios, you can create one or more staff-to-student ratios to meet your program’s needs.

Other Locations

Directors can also add non-classroom locations and their ratios, such as the playground or cafeteria, by selecting “Add Location.” Setting up locations lets users track students’ whereabouts throughout the day.

These non-classroom locations will be listed under “Other Locations”.

Ratio Alert Settings

Once locations have been added, directors will also have the option to turn on “Out of Ratio” alerts. These alerts will notify directors if a location goes outside the preset staff-to-student ratio. 

To enable ratio alerts, navigate to:

Menu > Settings > Attendance Settings > Ratio Alert Settings 

Select the “On” toggle, then tap the pencil icon to customize the notification frequency and time settings.
