What is included in Messaging?
Messaging allows you to send messages to your school community. School administrators and teachers can send Conversations and Announcements and include attachments or mark messages as urgent. This built-in feature is a convenient way to directly connect with your school community about general communications, announcements, and urgent updates!

Accessing Messaging
Kaymbu users can access the Messaging feature from the Kaymbu app on their device or from the website my.kaymbu.com by going to Menu > Messaging.
Families can access the Messaging feature from the Kaymbu for Families app on their device. If families are unable to access the Kaymbu for Families app, they will receive Messages to their email or phone number.
Features of Messaging
Messaging includes two features, Announcements, and Conversations. Announcements allow users to send updates or general communication to all families within their center or classroom. With Conversations, teachers and directors will be able to hold back-and-forth conversations with families. Announcements can be sent by all user levels, whereas Conversations can be sent and received by Directors and Teachers.
Conversations
Families will receive and reply to Conversations in the Kaymbu for Families app, whereas teachers and directors will receive and reply directly through the Kaymbu app or web portal.
Announcements
Announcements can be sent by all user levels to the entities they have access to. For example, an Announcement can be sent by Directors to all of the families within their Center. It is important to note that Announcements cannot be replied to. Families will receive the Announcements through the Kaymbu for Families app but will not have the ability to reply.
Urgent Messages
Urgent Messaging is also available for both Conversations and Announcements, allowing users to have the option to send messages as urgent. Sending a message as urgent will notify family members through email and text message (depending on their contact information in their profile).
Shared Inboxes
Each user has a shared inbox at their particular level of access. For example, if there are multiple teachers in Classroom A, all teachers will have access to the same Messages. This is also true at all of the other levels, meaning that all of the directors of one Center will also have a shared inbox and will have access to all of the same Messages.
In addition, families of the same student also have a shared inbox, so all family members attached to a student profile will have access to the same Messages. This means that all connected family members can view the communication shared through the Kaymbu messaging platform, whether the school or family members initiate that communication. Please note, there is no ability to message an individual family member through Kaymbu's messaging platform.
Message Filters
Within the Messaging feature, users have access to different filters to help sort and organize Messages.
My Messages / All Messages
The My Messages / All Messages filter is available to all administrators. Since each user has a shared inbox at their particular level of access, when selecting Messages, they will initially have access to all messages that have been sent and received at their level. My Messages are all of the Messages that have been sent and received at the user's current level of access, whereas All Messages allows administrators to view and monitor the inboxes of the classrooms within their center. By selecting the All Messages filter, administrators will also have the ability to respond directly to any messages.
Student Filter
With the Student Filter, teachers can filter by student, and directors can filter by classroom and/or student.
Date Filter
The Date Filter is accessible to all user levels, allowing users to filter their messages by date ranges.
