What are Conversations?
Conversations is a feature on Kaymbu's Messaging platform that allows directors and teachers to hold back-and-forth messaging with individual families. Teachers and directors can send and receive messages directly through the Kaymbu app or web portal, while families can choose to receive and respond to messages through email or through the Kaymbu for Families app.

How to Send a Conversation
Accessing Conversations
Kaymbu users can access Conversations by navigating to Menu > Messaging and selecting the "Conversations" tab at the top of the page. All Conversations sent and received through Kaymbu’s Messaging platform will be stored within the "Conversations" tab on the Messaging page.
Who Can Send and Receive Conversations
Conversations can be sent by directors or teachers to individual families.
When a Conversation message is sent to a family, they will receive the message and can respond directly through the Kaymbu for Families app or through email. Families can choose their notification preferences by customizing their notification settings.
Please note that when a family responds to a Conversation, staff will not receive an email. Directors and teachers can view Conversations directly on Kaymbu's Messaging platform.
Active Conversations and Archived Conversations
By default, Conversations sent and received through Kaymbu's Messaging platform will appear under the "Active Conversations" inbox within the Conversations tab on the Messaging page.
However, users can choose to archive Conversations when needed. Archiving Conversations enables you to remove outdated messages from your active inbox, filtering them out of view. Please note that archiving a Conversation does not delete the message; instead, it will move the message to your archive inbox.
If you need to delete a Conversation message, please reach out to our support team at help@kaymbu.com for additional assistance.
How to Archive a Conversation
To archive a Conversation, open up the message and click on the archive icon on the top right corner of the page.
You can also choose to “Select All” or select multiple Conversations at a time to archive messages simultaneously. Once the messages have been selected, click on the archive icon that appears at the top of the page.
To view your Archived Conversations, click the drop-down arrow next to “Active Conversations” and select “Archived Conversations.”
How to Restore Conversations
Archived Conversations can always be accessed and restored to active status when needed.
To do so, click on the drop-down arrow next to “Active Conversations” and select “Archived Conversations.” Once you have accessed all your Archived Conversations, open the message or select multiple messages and click the restore icon that appears at the top of the page. This will restore the message to an Active Conversation, and the message will be moved to your active inbox.
Conversation Filters
Directors or teachers can utilize the various Conversation filter options to quickly sift through the messages in their Conversations inbox. Messages can be filtered by 'My Conversations' or 'All Conversations', by student(s), or by date range.
My Conversations and All Conversations Filter
By default, the messages that appear when viewing your Active Conversations inbox will be filtered to 'My Conversations'. The 'My Conversations' filter populates the messages previously sent and/or received at the user's current level of access. This will allow teachers or directors to view the Conversations they have personally sent or received through Kaymbu's Messaging platform.
Alternatively, since each user has a shared inbox at their particular level of access, when selecting the 'All Conversations' filter setting, they will have access to all of the messages sent and/or received at their level. For example, all teachers assigned to a classroom will be able to view all of the messages sent or received by other teachers assigned to that same classroom.
Furthermore, filtering to 'All Conversations' as a director will allow the user to view and monitor the Conversation inboxes of all classrooms within their center. Directors will also have the ability to respond directly to any Conversations.
Students Filter
The 'Student' filter allows directors to filter by classroom or student within their center, while teachers can filter by students assigned to their particular classroom.
Date Filter
The 'Date' filter allows users to easily filter messages within a specific date range.
Additionally, through this filter setting, directors or teachers can set a Default Start Date for their Conversations. By setting a start date, all Conversations that were sent or received before the entered date will be filtered out of view. This is a great tool to utilize at the beginning of the school year in order to keep your active inbox up to date and relevant.
