Observations

Observations can be sent home throughout the day, or at regular daily or weekly intervals using the Digest Feature. Here’s what your parents will see when you share an observation:

Urgent Messages

If an administrator or teacher turns on the Urgent toggle, the message will look more important, and it will be delivered to all available avenues of communication, i.e. if a parent’s communication preference is email, but they also have a phone number in the system, the message will arrive as both an email and a text!

Translation

In Menu > Roster, you can set a parent’s language preference to a language other than English! If you use that setting, they will receive the information in English, with a button on top that looks like this, telling them in their preferred language to click here if they would like to translate the information:

Storyboards

One of the best features of Storyboards is that they arrive in the body of the message, not as an attachment! This makes it easier for parents to access the content that you’re sending home!

FAQs

Where does it say the message is coming from?

All information from Kaymbu is sent through an automatically-generated email address, and will show that it is from the name of the classroom, or the name of the administrator who sent it.

Can families see each others contact information?

No, everything you send out will look like it is only going to that family member. It is essentially all a bcc format. If families respond to the message, it will only go back to the staff members listed on the "Family Reply" settings, and it will not go out to all other families. There is no ability to reply all.

How do I know if families are reading what I send?

You can check the Shared Content Report to see the list of recipients and of them, who has read the information. You can even see if they’ve read it multiple times!
